Christian Films Coming Out August 2013
August 18, 2013
Here are some of the Christian movies scheduled for release on DVD and Blu-Ray this month! There are a variety of films that focus on different themes, including children in foster care, spiritual demons, evolution, children slavery in India, marriage and adventure. Actors, directors and producers have worked hard and I am impressed with many of the films that are Christian-based.
“The Truth" 1 Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
This verse reminds me that no matter what I’m doing through out my day, I need to be mindful to give thanks to God. I’m thankful for Christian films!

After he returns to his home, he can’t stop thinking about little Annika and feels compelled to make his wrong right. Jason is married and has seen very strange visions throughout his life. They cause him to live in daily fear as each nightmare unfolds in his mind. His wife is unsettled and decides to use ancient spiritual rituals to help Jason. This movie is for thrill-seekers who are searching for a Christian perspective on spiritual demons. I would not recommend this film for children.

When I first watched the trailer for this movie, I immediately thought of the people I know who love to debate evolution and creation. This 45-minute documentary shares the perspectives of the top evolutionary scientists and atheists and overall debunks evolution. I found the trailer informative and am looking forward to watching this film when it is available.

This movie sounds like a great film as summer winds down over the next month. Ken is a successful investor who is focused on gaining a new, wealthy client during a business dinner. He unexpectedly agrees to volunteer as a camp counselor at a summer camp for foster kids. Eli, the camper he is assigned to, was physically and emotionally abused by his parents and is nothing less than a challenge for Ken. Ken spends the week complaining about Eli and giving up on him, but then realizes how to break through.

One makes a comment about always wondering what could have been with the women that got away. This thought stays with John and soon leads him to seek out an inappropriate relationship with a former girlfriend. Will John relinquish to temptation or be compelled to make his marriage right? This film is focused on an adult audience.

If you are looking for a great children’s movie full of action, checkout The Lost Medallion! It originally came out earlier this spring and will now be available on DVD! A father tells his two children the story of the lost medallion and they end up going back in time 200 years. They risk their lives trying to find the medallion and the children lose their father as they struggle to get back to the right year. This family-friendly movie has a positive message for children.
Conclusion
It seems the Christian film industry has grown considerably in the last few years and I’m excited to see more films becoming mainstream. Parents especially are looking for wholesome entertainment for their children and need to know which movies are appropriate for different ages. There may be other Christian films coming out, so please let me know of others you would like me to review!
