Cancer stinks. But there's something especially heartbreaking about seeing a child suffer from this awful disease. So when Christian celebrity Chris Pratt visited Ronald McDonald House New York, he walked away deeply moved, encouraging parents to "hug your babies."
Chris Pratt may be a wildly successful actor. But first and foremost, he's a Christian. So, it's nothing new to see him taking time out from his busy schedule to do good.

On February 6, 2019, the Lego Movie 2 star headed to the Ronald McDonald House in New York to spend some time with kids who are fighting the long hard battle against cancer.
There was one moment in his visit that especially stood out. Chris Pratt had the chance to visit a young girl named Paige.
Chris' visit to Paige was huge because Paige doesn't get much human interaction, due to the severity of her illness.
“Because of her weakened immune system, Paige must stay in a post-transplant suite where she has limited contact outside of her room,” Ronald McDonald House New York explained on Instagram.
The organization thanked the Gradians of the Galaxy actor for coming by with a photo of Chris Pratt with his hand on Paige’s shoulder, "Thank you to @prattprattpratt and #mdcproductions for bringing this unforgettable experience to Paige and all the families staying at the House.”
As exciting as it was for these families to get a visit from an A-List celebrity, their stories had a huge impact on Chris Pratt, too.
"Hug your babies," Chris wrote in his own Instagram post, featuring a photo collage of him spending time different kids throughout the day. "I had the chance to meet some awesome kids today. I am so blessed."
You can tell the experience truly humbled Chris.
"Thank you to @rmhnewyorkfor the extraordinary work you do with children. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share in their light. My heart is full," he said.
Again, Chris urged parents everywhere to "hug your babies".
Chris also thanked Lego for sending over a box of toys for the kids to have.
In a second post, Pratt thanked some of the kids for his “new bracelets” and shared a bible verse to encapsulate the experience.
He wrote, “Bye bye New York! Made a bunch of friends today. Thanks to Nori, Emmalyn, Caleb, Eli and McKenna for my new bracelets. And to all the other kids who made drawings and cards, thank you as well. Love you!
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
What a wonderful thing Chris Pratt did for these families facing their darkest days. God calls us to use our gifts to serve others. And that's just what Chris Pratt did that day!
