You're Not Alone In The Heartache Of Miscarriage
There is no joy like holding a newborn baby for the first time. As we count their little toes and kiss their chubby cheeks we sometimes wonder what will they grow up to be and what difference they will make to the world. But all too often this dream is cut short and ended because of miscarriage. And for some reason, we suffer this pain in silence. Why do women not share this pain and let those around them support them in their grief? [rsnippet id="3" name="Article-Ad"] It’s time that we speak up about this painful and heart-wrenching loss that many women have endured. These celebrities have experienced miscarriages, too and they want you to know that you’re not alone.1. P!nk

She admitted that she had delayed making the announcement any earlier because she had previously lost a baby. P!ink said, "I didn't want to talk about it because I was just really nervous, and I have had a miscarriage before." [/slide]2. Gwyneth Paltrow

It didn’t work out and I nearly died. So I am like, 'Are we good here or should we go back and try again?'" [/slide]3. Beyoncé

Beyonce said it was, "the saddest thing I've ever been through." "It's one of the reasons I did not share I was pregnant the second time, because you don't know what's going to happen. And that was hard, because all of my family and my friends knew and we celebrated. It was hard." [/slide]4. Nicole Kidman
Monica Schipper via Getty Images Nicole Kidman also opened up about her early struggle to have a baby with Tom Cruise, "From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies," she said. "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that's when we would adopt Bella." [rsnippet id="2" name="ArticleAd-300x250-3"] [/slide]5. Kathie Lee Gifford
Monica Schipper via Getty Images In a very candid moment in ‘92, Kathie Lee told her audience on “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” that she had not too long ago lost a baby. Kathie said, "Until you experience [a miscarriage] yourself, you really don't understand the heartbreak of it." [/slide]6. Mariah Carey
People Mariah’s first pregnancy with then-husband Nick Cannon ended in miscarriage. Later, while she was pregnant with her twins, she recalled the experience. "It kind of shook us both and took us to a place that was really dark and difficult," she said. [/slide]7. Brooke Shields
Monica Schipper via Getty Images Brook learned that she was having a miscarriage right before she was set to go onstage to perform with the Kermit the Frog. When she reflected on her experience she said, "We were crushed. Up till then, I thought simply because it was time and I wanted to have a baby, it would work." Monica Schipper via Getty Images Barbara Walters also had many struggles with pregnancy loss. She recalls, “I had had several miscarriages, and when I did, they were never reported. And I would take a couple of days off then, and go back to work. Barbara later adopted her sweet daughter Jacqueline. [/slide]9. Kirstie Alley
Monica Schipper via Getty Images In her memoir, Kirstie Alley kept no secrets about the emotional struggles of her miscarriage, "When the baby was gone, I just didn’t really get over it. Neither did my body," she wrote. "I so thoroughly convinced my body that it was still pregnant after nine months that I had milk coming from my breasts. I was still fat, I was still grieving, and I had just been told it was very possible I would never be able to have children. Fat, childless, with little hope for any future children ... that’s when I began to get fat." [/slide]10. Giuliana Rancic
Monica Schipper via Getty Images Giuliana Rancic didn’t know what to think when she suffered from a miscarriage in 2010 at nine weeks. "I was angry at life and at God." "Hopefully we can help people understand that there's nothing to be ashamed of," she said. "It's such a taboo subject, but it's a very common problem." [/slide]11. Lisa Ling
Monica Schipper via Getty Images Lisa Ling’s first pregnancy devastatingly ended in miscarriage. "I felt more like a failure than I'd felt in a very long time." she said. "We actually [hadn't] been trying that long," she added. "I don't know that I took it as seriously as I should have because it happened so fast. But then when I heard the doctor say there was no heartbeat it was like bam, like a knife through the heart [/slide]12. Céline Dion
Monica Schipper via Getty Images In 2009, Céline Dion wanted to have a second child with her husband. When she did get pregnant, after a few days the baby “didn’t stay”. "But through it all, Celine kept a positive attitude. "It’s life, you know? A lot of people go through this. We tried four times to have a child. We’re still trying. We’re on the fifth try, and I’ll tell you, if five is my lucky number, this fifth try has got to come in." If you have ever lost a baby we hope that you can find comfort in knowing that your sweet child is safe in the arms of Jesus. Don’t be afraid to cry out to God for help, He’s just a prayer away.
