True Story Of Virginia Police Officer Set To Inspire As Christian Movie 'Break Every Chain'

'Break Every Chain' the movie tells the true story of Virginia police officer Jonathan Hickory. The pressure and trauma of his job had Jonathan spiraling out of control until Jesus saved him.

This impactful Christian movie addresses the difficulties faced by police officers and anyone serving in high-stress service jobs. It has already gained a lot of recognition with awards from national and international film festivals.

The story is based on Virginia police officer Jonathan Hickory, a man who lost his father as a young boy. Jonathan is now grown and he has found the woman he loves. He proposes and marries and is pursuing his dream of being a police officer, only to find out that it is not as easy as he anticipated. There are scenes of the cop having to tell various families about their losses of loved ones.

Jonathan really hits the greatest trial of his life when he loses his wife and daughter. The trailer shows him handling his struggles in unhealthy ways, such as drinking. He falls into depression and becomes suicidal after so much devastation and darkness. Ultimately, he turns to the only One who can save Him.

Real-Life Overcomer Story

'Break Every Chain' the movie recounts the real-life struggles Jonathan Hickory faced as a police officer. And it tells of how faith saved him from a deadly spiral. Jonathan chose to share his true story in the hopes of helping others.

“I really feel God laid it on my heart at that moment,” he explained. “It’s changing lives and it’s making a difference.”

Life is hard. 'Break Every chain' the movie reminds us of the power of Christ in our broken places. You may not have experienced this much loss in your life, but we can all relate to disappointment and brokenness. No matter what our losses are, may this remind us of our special gift of redemption and comfort from our Savior Jesus.
