Two 90-Year-Olds Meet For A Blind Date And The Internet Swooned
Blind date. It's a word you hardly hear these days, what with all the searching, swiping, winking and what not you can do across the many dating sites and apps available to those seeking companionship. But Harold, 90, and Miriam, 93, don't have time for all of that newfangled technology. They prefer to find love the old fashioned way. And we wouldn't have it any other way!
These lovebirds are the latest social media sensation, after meeting for a blind date at a Washington D.C. bookstore, Politics & Prose. [rsnippet id="3" name="Article-Ad"] Harold's granddaughter set the whole thing up, after waiting on Miriam at the restaurant where she works.
"My Jenny was so impressed with Miriam's pep and vigor that she said, 'You'd make a great date for my grandfather,'" Harold explained.
Miriam hadn't dated since losing her beloved husband in 1999. But when Jenny made the suggestion that Miriam meet up with her grandfather, the 93-year-old figured she had nothing to lose. Harold, who'd dated off and on since losing his wife in 1998, called the next day. The two agreed to meet at his favorite bookstore, which also had a cafe.

Blind Date Goes Viral

Miriam checked in at the information desk when she arrived, and casually mentioned she was there on a blind date. And that's all it took for the bookstore personnel to become smitten with the unlikely sweethearts! And it turns out these two aren't just irresistible to the bookstore employees, but to the Internet as well! Companionship and making connections is important at any age, and God has an amazing way of bringing people together!

A Prayer for Transforming Worry into Trust - Your Daily Prayer - October 24

Worrying does nothing to benefit our lives in any way; it only takes away. It takes away the present moments and present joy you could experience, not to mention it takes away from a peaceful life.
