Bible Found Untouched After Tornado Rips Through Chapel

Bible Untouched By The Mississippi Tornado Brings Hope

When a tornado ripped through the campus of William Carey University (WCU) in Mississippi, it left behind a path of destruction. But it's what the tornado didn't touch that stands out most. The Bass Chapel at WCU was destroyed. But there at the pulpit, amidst the debris, sat an open Bible untouched by the Mississippi tornado.

Spared From Destruction

The tornado that ravaged the area was rated an EF-3, meaning the winds ranged between 136–165 miles per hour. As a result, the damage to the campus and the Bass Chapel was severe.

"No building was left untouched," Rick Wilemon, an adjunct art instructor at the private Christian college, said. "So many appear to be total losses."

So, to find the Bible untouched by the Mississippi tornado was a miracle. Yet, more than that, it was a message from above.

The Bible was open to Psalm 46. It opens with the passage: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Consequently, it's a powerful message that has brought peace and hope to those on the campus of WCU. And after Rick posted pictures of the Bible online, it's a message quickly spreading hope beyond Mississippi.

"It is remarkable that something so inspiring to our community is also inspiring to the nation," he said.

The untouched Bible is a powerful reminder that we're never alone. Therefore, the Word of the Lord will always point us in the right direction!

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

A Bible verse found fused on 9/11 rubble reveals an important message!
