91-year-old veteran Donald Morrison almost died 73 years ago while fighting for our country. When he was only 18-years-old he decided to enlist in the army. Donald was eventually stationed in Germany and ordered to fight on the front lines.Donald recalls one specific day where he thought he was going to die. First, it brushed across his face and then pounded into the left side of his chest.He was knocked over by the sheer impact of the force. His comrades thought for sure he was a goner and left him. Donald had always carried his Bible in the left breast pocket of his uniform and on this particular day, the Bible saved him. When he had enough energy to get up, he took his Bible out of his pocket and saw that the shrapnel was pierced halfway through the book. When Donald returned to the camp his comrades were in complete shock. He says, they all looked like they had seen a ghost. This is a reminder to all of us that God is always watching over us and protecting us.
