Have you ever left a larger than normal tip? A customer at a Benton Harbor restaurant did just that and made everyone's day.
On February 4th, 2024, a man named Mark came into the Mason Jar Cafe in Southwest, MI for lunch. His total? $32.43. And with that, he left a $10,000 tip.

Why did he leave such a large tip? He did so in memory of a friend who had recently passed, according to Yahoo News. He was in town for the funeral. He also requested that the tip be split between the servers. Which it was. Each one received around $1,100.
"We had so many incredible women working that day. Hard-working mothers, just who really deserve this," waitress Paige Mulick says. She will use her share of the money to help pay off some of her student loans.
This tip that was given at the Benton Harbor restaurant could change a person's life. Whether the extra money helped with an electric bill, bought presents for a child's birthday, or went towards educational expenses, every little bit helps.

Mark had no idea how much he would help the servers or how he would change their lives but he gave of himself and his act of kindness was very much appreciated.
Even if we don't have $10,000 to give as a tip, we can still look for ways to give to others. We can help a neighbor when they are in need, add a little extra to a check at dinner, or give a kind word to a stranger in our community.
God calls us to be the hands and feet of Jesus and that is what we become when we give of ourselves and give to others as this man did at the Benton Harbor restaurant.

Unfortunately, some controversy broke out later after the restaurant let one of the waitresses go. The restaurant cited poor timing but says the firing had nothing to do with the $10,000 tip. However, let's not let this turn of events take away from the customer's generosity and incredible act of kindness.
