The talented men's choir, Vocal Point, have put together a beautiful 'Be Thou My Vision' a cappella version. And this classic hymn never sounded so good!
No one knows for sure who is the original 'Be Thou My Vision' author. But it is believed that an Irish saint who experienced blindness later in life may have penned the poem.
Eleanor Hull originally translated this 8th century Irish hymn in 1912. And the a cappella version we hear today of 'Be Thou My Vision' is sung to the famed Irish folk tune ‘Slane.’
Over the years, many Christian artists and other musicians have covered the hymn, leading to its growing popularity. Despite its age, the powerful words of this hymn still ring true today.
“Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that thou art -
Thou my best thought, by day or by night;
Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.”
Today, in the 'Be Thou My Vision' a cappella version, the incredible vocalists of Vocal Point are putting their own spin on this beloved classic.
