72-Year-Old Domino's Delivery Driver Took A Fall And Then Family Surprises Her With Over $200K

Kindness and compassion can change someone's entire day, week or life. That is what happened to one woman in South Carolina.

Barbara Gillespie, a 72-year-old pizza delivery driver, was just out doing her job when she took a nasty tumble. A video posted to TikTok shows Barbara, with both arms full, approaching the customer's front door when she trips and falls.

The video also shows Kevin Keighron, a firefighter paramedic, walking out the door to check on Barbara. He asks her if she is OK and then proceeds to help her to her feet. While not seen in the TikTok video, Kevin’s wife, Lacey Keighron, an EMT, also offered Barbara assistance.

In a video posted to YouTube by Good Morning America, Barbara mentioned she was more concerned about the Keighrons’ food than herself.

However, offering her medical attention was not the only help the Keighrons gave Barbara. Lacey and Kevin started a GoFundMe, hoping to provide her with financial assistance.

“Hi, my name is Lacey and my husband and I are trying to fundraise for our Dominos delivery driver Barbara,” the description on GoFundMe reads. “Today she took a rough fall on our front porch while delivering our food. We would like to bless her by bringing a “tip” to help her with anything she may need.``

The Keighrons Set Up GoFundMe Page For Elderly Domino's Delivery Driver

Initially, the Keighrons set a goal of surprising Barbara with $200,000. However, not only has that goal since been reached, but it currently stands at $270,000!

A follow-up message on the GoFundMe page states that Lacey and her husband surprised Barbara, letting her know about the fundraiser on Feb. 8.

The video shows the utter shock on Barbara’s face as the Keighrons' let her know about their GoFundMe page for her.

In the video, Lacey talked about her and her husband's motivation for wanting to help Barbara financially.

“My own dad just passed away in May, and my husband’s father passed away a couple of years ago,” she said. “Both of our dads worked up until basically, they died. It makes me really sad for people like her .”

Lacey added she hoped that Barbara would not have to work as much.

The Keighrons’ generous move has changed Barbara’s life and her outlook. The money has allowed Barbara to retire. Barbara's final day at Domino’s was Feb. 16, according to Sunny Skyz.

“I just, like, thought I was in a dream,” Barbara said. “I had almost given up on people because people out there today are so mean. And here we got people loving, caring people that care about someone else, an elderly woman.”

“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.”Colossians 3:12
