Ansley Martin, a teen, gets candid about her rare disorder, and she unexpectedly goes viral.
This rare and beautiful soul knows that beauty is more than skin deep. She originally started sharing videos online because she’s passionate about how she defines beauty. She didn’t realize how God would use her platform to speak into the lives of those who watch her.
Ansley was born with congenital melanocytic nevus. This rare disorder causes dark lesions to be visible all over her skin. This condition is so rare that it only happens in 1 of every 500,000 births. It doesn’t hinder Ansley’s confidence in the least. Instead, she hams it up and has a zest-for-life attitude we can all appreciate.
For Ansley, the disorder manifested itself on her leg, which is much smaller than her other leg. "Her name is sticky. Let me know if you want to know more about her." she jokes. Adding, "Sticky is fierce!"
Strangers ask why she’s deformed, and Ansley jokes with them. One of her TikTok videos gained viral status with over six million views when she joked about having a Barbie leg transplant.

She can’t help but laugh and take it in stride. “Some people really don’t know how to handle me being deformed, and I think it’s the funniest thing ever,” she said. But she did get a little serious while explaining what her condition is so others can understand. Her disorder is “...an overgrowth of cells that can occur anywhere on the body and can cause some health concerns, especially if a nevus is formed on the brain or the spine.”
As Ansley Martin grows into a beautiful young lady with a flare for humor, she is incredibly grateful she can use her life experiences to speak into the lives of others.
We are all unique. We are all one-of-a-kind. Some, like Ansley, may be more noticeable than others, but it doesn’t make her any less precious in the eyes of God. Thank goodness for Ansley’s positivity. The world needs more souls like her.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do,” Ephesians 2:10.
