After millions have been lifting him up, Christian celebrity Alex Trebek says prayers are to thank for the miraculous remission of his pancreatic cancer. Doctors are amazed by the beloved Jeopardy host's incredible recovery. But we know God gets all the glory!
In June 2019, doctors were astounded by the results of Alex Trebek's cancer treatments. While the popular TV host wasn't out of the woods yet, his progress defied expectations.

“It’s kind of mind-boggling,” says Alex, who is 79 years old. “The doctors said they hadn’t seen this kind of positive result in their memory…some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent.”
As the host headed into several more rounds of chemo, he credited the progress he was seeing as nothing short of a miracle. And Alex Trebek says prayers are what's making the treatments so successful.
"I told the doctors, this has to be more than just chemo," he said. "I've had a couple million people out there who expressed their good thoughts, their positive energy, and their prayers. The doctors said it could very well be an important part of this."
We're glad Alex isn't afraid to credit God with his amazing progress because apparently, some news outlets are. Despite the fact that Alex Trebek openly says prayers are to thank for his recovery, Newsbusters says several large outlets cut out the part where the Jeopardy host credits prayer.

Not only is Alex finished with chemo, but he's "back in action" in his role as beloved Jeopardy host as the gameshow enters season 36. And reportedly, Alex Trebek's cancer is in remission.
“I’ve gone through a lot of chemotherapy and, thankfully, that is now over,” Alex said in a video update. “I’m on the mend, and that’s all I can hope for right now.”
Pancreatic cancer is incredibly deadly, with an average 5-year survival rate of less than 3 percent. So, this Alex Trebek Jeopardy cancer update is miraculous news, indeed!
Alex has also remained very open about the crippling pain and waves of depression he's endured during his journey. Which is why hearing the miraculous update from his doctors left the game show host overwhelmed with emotion.
