A Note Grandpa Wrote And Put On A Bucket Has Everyone In Tears After Going Viral
October 19, 2020
Thank God for all the days we get to spend with our loved ones. For those who are gone, we have the memories, for those still living, there’s still a chance to make more. For one family, a note grandpa wrote and put on a bucket has everyone in tears after going viral.
The grandpa’s name is Randy Long. His grandson, Ethan Anderson, discovered a bucket of old baseballs where they used to to play.

On the bucket was a note penned by Randy for someone to discover. Ethan shared a picture of the note on Twitter.
The note included this message:
Hope someone can use some of these baseballs in the batting cages. I found them cleaning my garage. I pitched them to my son and grandson for countless rounds. My son is now 46 y/o and my grandson is 23 y/o. I am 72 and what I won't give to pitch a couple of buckets to them. They have both moved away. If you are a father, cherish these times. You won't believe how quickly they will be gone.
God bless
P.S. Give them a hug and tell them you love them every chance you get.

Ethan lives in Birmingham, Alabama, and his grandma and grandpa call Montgomery home.
“I get to go back and visit every now and then, just didn’t realize that he missed hitting in the cages, I guess...he was just trying to give away some free baseballs,” Ethan shared.
“He doesn’t really know anything about social media really at all.”
Note Grandpa Wrote Is Touching Everyone's Hearts
The note grandpa wrote has encouraged fathers and sons to make the most out of their time together. This is a great reminder especially during the pandemic where many family members are quarantined from one another.
Even when physical distancing occurs, phone calls can take place, video calls, text messages, or writing a letter. God has blessed us with many ways to stay connected.
“I was the same way when I was younger, sometimes I didn’t really want to go to the cages but now looking back on it, it was some really good memories...I just hope everyone can kind of take away they need to cherish those moments while they have them.”
Ethan recognizes the temporal nature to human life. Jesus too, spoke about the shortness to our lives. We should live life in dedication to God, loving Him wholly and loving others like ourselves.

Life might be a vapor, but with the little time we have we can leave a great impact.
