A dog with 6 legs was found abandoned in a parking lot. And it's always heartbreaking to see an animal discarded as if they are trash. But this precious puppy's rescue is making headlines as she gets a second chance at life and the love she deserves!
A Good Samaritan found Ariel stranded in the parking lot of a home and garden store. The person who abandoned the puppy might have assumed a perfect stranger would take pity on her. For this unique little pup, she was dropped off at the Greenacres Rescue in the United Kingdom.

Staff gave the 11-week-old little spaniel puppy an exam and found her to be perfectly healthy in spite of having two additional legs.
"We have no idea why she would be born with a defect,” said Greenacres' employee Mikey Lawlor. He went on to say he had never seen this type of abnormality before. He then named this precious pup Ariel after The Little Mermaid because her extra legs look like a mermaid tale.
At first, Ariel was terrified. Can you imagine being taken away from your mama and the only home you know, only to be dumped in a parking lot? Ariel was definitely having a ruff moment. However, once the dog with 6 legs arrived at the shelter, she received medical clearance and was able to settle into her foster home.
It didn’t take long for Ariel to warm up to soft blankets, chew toys, and a loving foster family with bonus siblings. The shelter recently posted an update on Facebook:
“Here is Ariel spending some quality time with her foster brother and sister! She has settled into her foster home wonderfully and we are now looking at starting her vaccinations.”

“Happy Friday to all of her supporters and Thank you for your generosity and kindness. Being an international news star is exhausting don’t you know!”
The dog with 6 legs is seen snuggling with her foster sibling and enjoying all aspects of being loved.
Ariel’s story is a reminder there are that there are others out there waiting for their own little miracle of finding a loving fur-ever home. If you have room in your home and in your heart for a pet, consider adopting from an animal shelter.
