The God-given talent of 6-year-old blind piano prodigy Avett Ray Maness would be impressive enough all on its own. But what makes the inspirational short story of Avett Ray even more incredible are the struggles this little boy has already overcome in his life!
Avett Ray Maness was born with optic nerve fibroplasia. The disorder left little Avett completely blind in one eye with visibility in the other eye seriously impaired.

The 6-year-old reads braille and must walk with a cane. But none of this stops this little angel from using the incredible gifts God gave him!
“Music is in his body,” his mom, Sara Moore, says.
Sara is not exaggerating. Her son, Avett, has become a viral sensation after she started sharing videos of his incredible talent on social media.
The little boy, who can play the piano, drums, guitar, and ukulele, is completely self-taught. At just 11 months old, he pulled himself up to the piano and started playing!
Avett started with children's classics like 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' and 'The Hokey Pokey.'
But then, he quickly moved on, tackling more advanced songs like The Beatles 'Let It Be', The Turtles 'Happy Together', and even Queen 'Bohemian Rhapsody'!
"There's really nothing he can't play," Sara Moore explains. "He has touched so many people's lives."
His musical talents have made this sweet boy an internet celebrity. And Avett is proving that you don't have to let your disabilities hold you back.
"When Avett was 2 months old and they told me he was blind...I could not make it home because I was crying," Sara said. "Something that I thought was so tragic turned out to be his greatest and most beautiful gift."
God gave Avett Ray Maness a special purpose, for sure. He first inspired his mom to write a lovely children's book called Cotton Candy Clouds. And now he's inspiring millions with his beautiful music!
