6 Sisters Beat the World Record With a Combined Age of Almost 571 years

6 sisters beat the world record for the highest combined age of six siblings.

The sisters, from Farmington, MO, range in age from 88 to 101. What a blessing that all six are still here to spend time with one another. As of March 2024, their combined ages are just under 571 years.

The 6 Sisters Range In Age From 88 to 101

The six sisters are Norma Jacob, 101, Lorene Kollmeyer, 98, Maxine Cole, 97, Doris Griffith, 94, Margaret Norton, 90, and Elma Jennings, 88. Four still live in Farmington, while one lives in Columbia, MO, and the other in Marion, OH. Although they all have different last names now, they were from the Overall family. Their older brother, Stanley, passed away over twenty years ago.

The Guinness Book of World Records reviewed them for this special recognition. The idea to apply came from one of their nephews, Dean, the son of Norma. "He just decided that sounded like we might be, you know, eligible. So he started this," Maxine shared with GMA.

Certifying the 6 sisters for the world record wasn't as simple as just sending in birth certificates or showing their IDs. They had to submit over 100 documents, including photographs, birth certificates, marriage certificates, school records, and more.

The Sisters Are All Close With One Another

All the sisters were born in July and have a close relationship with one another, even though not all of them live in the same place. The sisters have also taken trips together in the past and get together every summer to celebrate with a picnic.

"We all were raised in the church. We belong to the First Baptist Church here in Farmington, and our mother and dad took us to Sunday school in church [growing up]," Maxine shared. "They've taught us to observe the Golden Rule and be kind to each other and love each other. And, in fact, in our daily lives, we've tried to do that. And I think that has been a wonderful thing that happened to us. We had wonderful parents."

Now, Who Makes the Best Pie Crust?

The sisters sound like an amazing bunch of people who get along well. However, according to Fox 2 St.Louis, there is one thing they argue about: who makes the best pie crust? I wonder if the family has a lot of taste tests to figure that out?

Blessings to this family of 6 sisters who now hold the world record. May they continue to enjoy one another and the families they have created throughout the years.
