When a man who has remained anonymous walked into the Cleveland restaurant, Nighttown, he ordered just one beer.

But the Good Samaritan's trip had nothing to do with getting a drink. He was there to share a blessing with the owner and staff in the form of a $3,000 tip!
The global coronavirus pandemic took a huge toll on businesses. And it hit the restaurant industry especially hard.
Thankfully, Brendan Ring's restaurant, Nighttown, managed to pull through the first wave of shutdowns.
"We've actually had a really, really good summer. People have supported us unbelievably," the restaurant owner explained.
But another surge in COVID-19 cases in Ohio meant another temporary shutdown for the business. Brendan decided to close the doors to Nighttown on November 22 through the following Spring, "until the complications are sort of under control."

It wasn't an easy decision. But a surprise $3,000 tip sent a hopeful message that things would all work out!
On the final day of operation for Nighttown, a customer came in right before closing. The man ordered just one beer, then asked for his check.
The tab came to only $7.02. So, Cleveland restaurant owner Brendan Ring couldn't believe his eyes when he looked down to see a $3,000 tip!
Thinking the huge tip must be a mistake, Brendan chased the customer down. But the man assured Brendan the $3,000 was no mistake and asked him to share the generous tip with the rest of the staff. That meant each person working got to take home $750 extra, an incredible blessing during these dark times!
Brendan, who felt "humbly grateful", said this type of act of kindness is, "Unbelievable but symbolic of the kind of quality folks we have [come to] know at Nighttown all these years."

What a powerful reminder that each of us has the ability to impact the lives of others. We can't all afford to leave a $3,000 tip but it takes nothing to be kind to one another. And even the smallest act of kindness can make an enormous impression!
