15 Good Christian Songs to Wake Your Kids Up To

15 Good Christian Songs to Wake Your Kids Up To

Summer is quickly fading away and for many children (and parents!) this means adjusting back to early mornings and getting ready for school. One idea to help your kids start on the right track each morning is to sing them a Christian song. The tune will energize their minds and bodies and the lyrics will send them to the bus stop or playground in a good mood. Not to mention, they will carry the lyrics and memories with them years down the road.

“The Truth"

Psalm 100: 1 – 2 “A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!”

Here are 15 good Christian songs to wake your kids up to.

15. “Awake My Soul” by Chris Tomlin

Breathe on me, breath of God, breathe on me

Breathe on me, breath of God, breathe on me

I come alive, I’m alive when you breathe on me

I come alive, I’m alive when you breathe on me

[Chorus:]

Awake, awake, awake my soul,

God resurrect these bones

From death to life, through you alone

Awake my soul

Speak to me, word of God, speak to me

Speak to me, word of God, speak to me

I come alive, I’m alive when you speak to me

I come alive, I’m alive when you speak to me

[Chorus:]

Awake, awake, awake my soul,

God resurrect these bones

From death to life, through you alone

Awake my soul

[Lecrae:]

Then He said to me,

Prophesy to these bones and say to them,

Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!

This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones,

I will make breath enter you,

And you will come to life.

So I prophesied as I was commanded.

As I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound,

And the bones came together, bone to bone.

And I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them,

And skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

Then He said to me,

Prophesy to the breath,

Prophesy, son of man, and say to it,

Conjure the four winds of breath and breathe.

[Chorus:]

Awake, awake, awake my soul,

God resurrect these bones

From death to life, through you alone

Awake my soul

Awake, awake, awake my soul,

God resurrect these bones

From death to life, through you alone

Awake my soul

[Lecrae:]

Yeah, I’m not alone, I realize

I breathe out, I come alive

Your word gives life to my dry bones

Your breath tells death it can ride on

Awake me, make me a living stone,

A testament to your throne, I

I’m nothing without you, I’m on my own

The only one who satisfies my soul

14. “How Great is Our God” by Chris Tomlin

Lyrics

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty

Let all the earth rejoice

All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide

And trembles at His voice

Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me

How great is our God, and all will see

How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands

And time is in His hands

Beginning and the end

Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One

Father Spirit Son

The Lion and the Lamb

The Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names

Worthy of our praise

My heart will sing

How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me

How great is our God, and all will see

How great, how great is our God

13. “When I Wake Up In The Morning” by Dove Brothers

Chorus

When I wake up in the morning I’m gonna lay these burdens down

Lay these burdens down lay these burdens down

Oh, when I wake up in the morning I’m gonna put on a robe and a crown

When I wake up in the morning one of these days

Verse 1

Today I live in a world of sin but I know what lies ahead

I know what lies ahead yes, I know what lies ahead

There’s a mansion that’s prepared, that’s what my Jesus said

When I wake up in the morning one of these days

Verse 2

I know not when the day shall come but I know I’m going there

I know I’m going there, I know I’m going there

I’m listening for the trumpet then I’ll meet Him in the air

When I wake up in the morning one of these days

12. “Meant To Be” by Steven Curtis Chapman

Long before you drew your first breath

A dream was coming true

God wanted to give a gift to the world

So he wrapped it up in you

Every step that you've taken

Every move that you make

Is part of his plan

You were meant to be touching

The lives that you touch

And meant to be here

Making this world so much more

Than it would be without you in it

You were meant to be bringing

The gifts that you bring

And singing the songs

You've been given to sing

You are perfectly, wonderfully,

Beautifully meant to be

You were meant to be

Long before you took your first fall

You stumbled to the ground

God started telling the story of you to the angles around

Every failure and victory

Everything in between

Its all in his hand

You were meant to be touching

The lives that you touch

And meant to be here

Making this world so much more

Than it would be without you in it

You were meant to be bringing

The gifts that you bring

And singing the songs

You've been given to sing

You are perfectly, wonderfully,

Beautifully meant to be

You were meant to be (yeah)

Meant to be

You are

You are

You are meant to be

You are

You are

You are meant to be

For every breath that your taking

And every move that you make

It's a meaningful life you've been given

Live it well

You were meant to be touching

The lives that you touch

And meant to be here

Making this world so much more

Than it would be without you in it

You were meant to be bringing

The gifts that you bring

And singing the songs

You've been given to sing

You are perfectly, wonderfully,

Beautifully meant to be (yeah)

You were meant to be (yeah)

You were meant to be (yeah)

You were meant to be

To be

You were meant to be

11. “Wake Up Song” by Kristian Stanfill

Wake up, oh sleeper, rise and awake

Heaven is calling, no time to waste

Eyes on the skyline, watch for the Son

Over the hilltop His glory will come

Wake up, wake up

Wake up, wake up

Wake from your slumber, see the display

Glory and passion are calling your days

Move to the rhythm, join in the song

We're singing of freedom, and unfailing love

Wake up, wake up

Wake up, wake up

Wake up

(Your life awaits)

Wake up

(Leave your wasted days)

Wake up

(Feel the rush of life)

Wake up

(Open up your eyes, wake up)

I hear Your voice in the morning light

You call my name, You're calling me to rise

I stand in You, here in Your perfect love

I lift my voice, because the word is out to rise and

Wake up

(Your life awaits)

Wake up

(Leave your wasted days)

Wake up

(Feel the rush of life)

Wake up

(Open up your eyes, wake up)

I hear Your voice in the morning light

You call my name, You're calling me to rise

I stand in You, here in Your perfect love

I lift my voice, because the word is out to rise and

Wake up

“The Truth" 1 Timothy 4:15 “Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.”

10. “Brand New Day” by Rapper KJ-52

Wooooah oh oh

Staring over in a brand new way

Woooahh oh oh

Shout it out it's a brand new day

And I'll never ever ever be the same

No I'll never ever ever be the same

Your sun light is on my face

Your life is all I chase

I Run right upon this race

Cause in you I'm gone put all my faith

Some nights I lose my way

Sometimes I walk and stray

But you come right inside my space

And each time you come you give me strength

This time I fix my gaze

This time it won't be the same

This time I won't be ashamed

So this time I can't help but say that...

Your sunlight is on my face

I look back how far I came

I think about how much I've changed

It was hard at times but I'm not the same

You deserve all this praise

You deserve all the fame

You deserve all my ways

I point back to you each and all my days

I reach and grab all you've gave

I see your hands all you've made

I see your plan and all you'd save

That we can have life (got me singing… )

[Bridge:]

I'm not where I want to be

But I'm not where I used to be

I'm not where I want to be

But I'm not where I used to be

9. I Washed My Hands This Morning Song

I washed my hands this morning

So very clean and bright

And lent them both to Jesus

To work for Him till night

Little feet, be careful

Where you take me to

Anything for Jesus

Only let me do.

My eyes are set to watch them

About their work or play

To keep them out of mischief

For Jesus’ sake all day

Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam Song

I’ll be a sunbeam for Him

6. “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves

Ow

Mm, yeah

I used to think maybe you loved me, now, baby, I'm sure

And I just can't wait till the day when you knock on my door

Now every time I go for the mailbox, gotta hold myself down

'Cause I just can't wait till you write me you're coming around

Now I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

And don't it feel good

Hey, all right now

And don't it feel good

Hey, yeah

I used to think maybe you loved me, now I know that it's true

And I don't want to spend my whole life just a-waiting for you

Now, I don't want you back for the weekend, not back for a day, no, no, no

I said, baby, I just want you back, and I want you to stay

Oh, yeah, now I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

And don't it feel good

Hey, all right now

And don't it feel good

Yeah, oh, yeah, now

And don't it feel good

Walking on sunshine

Walking on sunshine

I feel alive, I feel the love, I feel the love that's really real

I feel alive, I feel the love, I feel the love that's really real

I'm on sunshine, baby, oh

Oh, yeah, I'm on sunshine, baby

Oh, I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

I'm walking on sunshine, whoa

And don't it feel good

Hey, all right now

And don't it feel good

I'll say it, I'll say it, I'll say it again now

And don't it feel good

Hey, yeah now

And don't it feel good

Now don't it, don't it, don't it, don't it, don't it, don't it

And don't it feel good

I'll say it, I'll say it, I'll say it again now

And don't it feel good

Now don't it, don't it, don't it, don't it, don't it, don't it

And don't it feel good

Now tell me, tell me, tell me again now

And don't it feel good

Oh, yeah, now

And don't it feel good

Oh, don't it feel good, don't it feel good

Now don't it feel good

Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah

And don't it feel good

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah

And don't it feel good

“The Truth" 1 Timothy 4:15 “Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.”

5. “Love Him in the Morning”

Love Him in the morning, when you see the sun arising,

Love Him in the evening 'cause He took you through the day,

And in the in-between time when you feel the pressure coming,

Remember that He loves you and He promises to stay.

When you think you have to worry,

'Cause the things you have to do,

Remember He's not in a hurry,

He's always got time for You,

So… Love Him…

4. “GOOD MORNING FATHER!” by Jettie Hitchcock

Good morning, Father

On your throne above

I would like to show You

A signal of my love

Today while You're watching

I hope that when You see

A little child here waving [insert praising, clapping, etc. for each verse]

You'll know that it is me

Oh Father by this waving

May love to You shine through

Your love makes me so happy

I'll give it back to You

Chorus

Oh see me waving, Father

To say that I love You

With all my heart I'm waving

This message up to You

3. “Good Morning George” by VeggieTales

Good morning, George, how are you?

I hope you're feeling fine

I'd love to stay and talk but it's almost 8 o' clock

And I haven't got the time

Because we work real hard at the Chocolate factory

We start at eight and we don't get lunch 'til three

I've gotta drive a truck to make a buck

So I can send it home to my family

Well now you are in trouble

Your timecard is a wreck

It's almost two past eight

I'll tell Nezzar that you're late

And he'll take it from your check

Yes, Mr. Lunt

Oh, yes we work real hard at the Chocolate Factory

Excuse me, Mr. Lunt, but I've got an injury

Now get back on the line, you'll be just fine

With all this work to do we've got no time for sympathy

We used to be so happy

We used to laugh and run

Now there's no time to play

'Cause we've gotta work all day and it isn't very fun

I'm Rack

I'm Shack

I'm Benny

We work here in the plant

We'd like to take a break

For goodness sake

But Mr. Nezzer says, you can't

We all need a vacation

Our schedule is severe

Were getting very tired but stopping gets us fired

So well have to stay right here

Because we work real hard at the Chocolate Factory

We start at 8 and we don’t get lunch till 3

We work the whole week through to make a buck or two

So we can send them home to our families

Someday they’ll come and join us

Well live in harmony

We hope the day is near until then you’ll find us here

At the Nezzer Chocolate Factory

2. “Good Morning” by Mandisa

Wave away my yesterday

Cause I'm leaving it behind me.

Hello sunshine, come what may.

I feel something new inside me.

I hear the birds singing

Now my alarm's ringing

Get up, get up, hey!

It's a good morning!

Wake up to a brand new day

This morning,

I'm stepping, stepping on my way

Good morning,

You give me strength,

You give me just what I need

And I can feel the hope that's rising in me.

It's a good morning

Slow down, breathe in,

Don't move ahead

I'm just living in this moment

I've got my arms raised, un-phased

Jump out of bed

Gotta get this party going

I went to bed dreaming,

You woke me up singing

Get up, get up, hey!

It's a good morning!

Wake up to a brand new day

This morning,

I'm stepping, stepping on my way

Good morning,

You give me strength,

you give me just what I need

And I can feel the hope that's rising up in me.

It's a good morning

Now I'm smiling, and I'm kissing all my worries goodbye

Got the feeling, if I spread my wings I might even fly

You are my truth, my way

Give me the strength to say

Get up, get up, get up

Cause it's a good morning, hey

Mr. Mac to the mic

[Toby Mac]

Hey, top of the morning to you 'disa

You smoothie, me ice cold pizza

Cafe au lait, latte dah

You do the zumba, but I do not

Give me like half a marathon,

Cuz' we both know that His mercy flows,

In the morning.

Wake up to a brand new day

This morning,

I'm stepping, stepping on my way

Good morning,

You give me strength,

you give me just what I need

I can feel the hope that's rising up in me.

It's a good morning

Wake up to a brand new day

This morning,

I'm stepping, stepping on my way

Good morning,

You give me strength you give me just what I need

I can feel the hope that's rising up in me.

1. “Good Morning”

Good morning, good morning, good morning

It's time to rise and shine

Good morning, good morning, good morning

The sun is just above the hill

Another day for us to fill

With all the things we love to do

Oh can't you hear, it's calling you

Doodle-y do, doodle-y do, doodle-y do

Good morning, good morning, good morning

Its time to rise and shine

Good morning, good morning, good morning

I hope you're feeling fine

Good morning, get up, get out of bed
