10-Year-Old Punched Through Glass And Saved Family From House Fire

A ten-year-old punched through glass and saved her family from a house fire.

The Indiana authorities cite the Madison house fire as one of the most chaotic and dramatic scenes witnessed in their career. And the hero of this story revolves around a child who knew exactly what to do.

Girl Saved Family From House Fire

In the early morning hours of July 3rd, a fire broke out at an apartment complex. The family was asleep in their second-story apartment when the flames had engulfed the stairs and parts of the building. Someone had called 9-1-1 and when they arrived on the scene, they knew people were trapped inside. Moments later, they witnessed an act of bravery that saved an entire family.

"She punched through and broke the glass out of the way. And then she just started pulling the babies out and all the children jumped out,” Patrolman Nichole Midgett.

Once this ten-year-old broke the glass, she got all five of her siblings and her grandmother to safety. The police succeeded in “catching” each of the siblings as this brave girl got them to the window and helped them jump.

It’s not every day when a child saves an entire family. But fortunately for this family, this young girl knew exactly what to do and God’s guidance, wisdom, and protection were upon them. She will no doubt be able to tell this story for years to come of how God gave her the courage to do what she needed to do to get her family to safety.

When we face a crisis, we are often at a loss for how to navigate the fires of life. But God grants us wisdom when we need it because he promises to be with us in all situations.

A Prayer for Those Who Are Lonely or Isolated This Christmas - Your Daily Prayer - December 23

This Christmas, remember how precious you are to the Creator. Remember that there is nothing you can do or say that would ever separate His presence and love from you. It’s okay to go through Christmas feeling alone and isolated, but make sure you turn to God to fill those feelings of loneliness.
