10 Great Slow Christian Worship Songs

I love worship songs that are fast and considered energy, but I also love slower worship songs. You have time to think about each word you are singing and let the message sink in. Many worship services at church incorporate slow Christian worship songs because worship is not about rushing through the service or singing as many songs as possible. Try focus on letting the words pour over you with each beat next Sunday or the moments you take to worship God.

Here are 10 great slow Christian worship songs.

10. “Give Me Jesus” by Jeremy Camp

Do you ask for Jesus when you first wake up in the morning? Think about this as you worship God today.

Favorite Lyrics

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise

Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

9. “At the Cross (Love Ran Red)” by Christ Tomlin

Have you surrendered yourself to God? Jesus is waiting for you at the cross.

Favorite Lyrics

At the cross
At the cross
I surrender my life.
I'm in awe of You
I'm in awe of You
Where Your love ran red
and my sin washed white.
I owe all to You
I owe all to You Jesus.

There's a place where sin and shame are powerless.
Where my heart has peace with God and forgiveness.
Where all the love I've ever found.
Comes like a flood,
Comes flowing down.

8. “Waiting Here for You” by Christy Nockels

“Waiting Here for You” is a great song about praising God and giving Him the glory.

Favorite Lyrics

You're the Lord of all creation
And still you know my heart
The author of salvation
You've loved us from the start

Waiting here for you
With our hands lifted high in praise
And it's you we adore
Singing Alleluia

7. “God I Look to You” by Bethel Music

You can always turn to God no matter what is happening. He knows how to redeem your mistakes and relationships.

Favorite Lyrics

I will love You Lord my strength
I will love You Lord my shield
I will love You Lord my rock forever
All my days I will love You God

6.  “Forever” by Bethel Music

The piano comes through so strongly in “Forever” and it sends the message of how Jesus lives even deeper to your soul.

Favorite Lyrics

(Now) Forever He is glorified
Forever He is lifted high
(And) Forever He is risen
He is alive, He is alive

We sing Hallelujah, we sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

“Cornerstone” has been a favorite song of mine for a while and it never fails to captivate me. Faith in God is real and nothing can break this. I pray this song encourages you.

Favorite Lyrics

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

4. “Greater” by Elevation Worship

God is our shield and shelter through all difficulties and is the only one we can praise. No one is greater.

Favorite Lyrics

You're greater, greater
There's no one like our God
You alone are worthy
God You are greater, greater
There's no one like our King
All the earth is singing
"God you are greater"
You are, you are
God you are greater
You are, You are

3. “Sanctuary” by Aaron Shust

This songs is beautiful, especially with the piano. Each word brings truth and meaning. Sanctuary reminds me of a lullaby to calm the soul.

Favorite Lyrics

He will be our sanctuary
Let our hearts not be afraid
Dwelling here with us forever
Jesus Christ is born today

Mary sings a lullaby
Love is born
Is Holy Night

2. “Lamb of God” by Tenth Avenue North

The words in “Lamb of God” are simple, but extremely heart felt.

Favorite Lyrics

You are Holy
You are worthy
You are Holy
You’re the lamb of God

You are Holy
You are worthy
You are Holy
You’re the lamb of God

1. “Be Still My Soul (In You I Rest)” by Kari Jobe

I pray you experience peace and stillness in the storms that life brings. God will never forsake you and He has a plan for you.

Favorite Lyrics

Be still my soul, be still
Be still my soul, be still
Wait patiently upon the Lord
Be still my soul, be still

Be still I know He is God
He is here, He is here
Be still I know He is God

I am a Christian writer and editor that lives in northern Michigan and thoroughly enjoy music, movies, TV shows, books and other entertainment with a Christian focus. My favorite song is "Oceans" by Hillsong United because it reminds me that has big plans for me and everyone else who puts their trust in Him. There are many movies that have impacted my life, but a few include God's Not Dead, The Shunning and Letters to God. I also write for www.faithandentertainment.com and love connecting with readers, so please don't hesitate to contact me! When I'm not writing I enjoy watching movies and laughing with my busy toddler and husband.
