English Revised Version (ERV)

Yea, before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.

Clarke's 1-samuel 2:15 Bible Commentary

Before they burnt the fat - They would serve themselves before God was served! This was iniquity and arrogance of the first magnitude.

He will not have sodden flesh - He chooses roast meat, not boiled; and if they had it in the pot before the servant came, he took it out that it might be roasted.

Wesley's 1-samuel 2:15 Bible Commentary

2:15 The fat - And the other parts to be burnt with it. So this was all additional injury; for they took such parts as they best liked whilst it was raw.
