What is GodTube? GodTube.com is a video-driven social network designed for both Christians and non-Christians to share the message and love of Christ. We are a family-friendly site where people of all ages, races, backgrounds, and nationalities can share and belong.
What can I do at GodTube? You can:
Do I have to be a Christian to use GodTube? No, of course not! GodTube embraces all users who are interested in Christ, Christianity, and the meaning of unconditional love and faith. Members of other religions, agnostics and atheists are encouraged to join and participate and share their point of view, as long as it’s done respectfully.
Is GodTube affiliated with any particular Christian denomination or church? No. GodTube is a non-denominational Christian organization. Our hope and prayer is that through the innovative and interactive power of the Internet, we can connect people and discuss those issues that often divide us.
Do I have to join to watch videos? No. You can watch any video simply by clicking on the thumbnail frame of the video. But if you join, you can enjoy all the other cool functions on GodTube! JOIN NOW!
What are Video Channels? Just like television channels, GodTube Channels are collections of videos grouped by content, theme or topic. You’ll find channels on children, family, men, women, music, and home schooling among many others, as well as channels dedicated to most major churches. When you join GodTube, you can subscribe to any channel you like and the newest video will be automatically downloaded to your personal page!
What are Groups? Groups are communities of users all interested in a particular topic, issue or organization. By clicking on the “Groups” tab on the GodTube.com home page, you can browse the various groups that exist. As a GodTube member, you can start or join as many groups as you want, post videos to a group, or watch the videos of a particular group. You can also connect to other group members through the Group page, and discuss topics related to that group on discussion boards after you register.
What are Ministries? GodTube Ministries are churches, ordained pastors, para-church ministries and other religious organizations who have partnered with GodTube to deliver their message on our wide-reaching platform. Ministries have slightly different pages—Ministry Pages—where they can post videos, interact with users, broadcast live using the Prayer Blog, and video blog.
How do I sign up as a Ministry? Ministries are approved on an individual basis. If your church or ministry is interested in becoming a partner, please email your request to ministry@godtube.com.
How do I watch videos? Simply click on the thumbnail image of any video or its title to play the video.
What should I do if I can’t see the videos? You need to have Flash 8 or higher in order to be able to view videos on GodTube. You can download Flash 8 by visiting www.Adobe.com
What video formats should I use when uploading videos? We accept 3gp, mp4, mov, asf, flv, mpg, avi, wmv, and rm.

Can I download videos from GodTube? At this time, we do NOT support downloading videos from the GodTube site.
How can I send a link of a video to someone? Click the “Share this Video” link below the video. Then enter the email address of the recipient in the appropriate field, a brief message, and click “Submit.”
How do you monitor video content? GodTube PRE-APPROVES all videos before they are loaded to our site.
How do I upload a video to GodTube? 1. Log in or register with GodTube. 2. In the top right corner, click the “Upload Videos” button. 3. Fill in the appropriate fields to name the video, choose keywords, and select at least one channels where you video should reside. Then press “Continue.” 4. On the second screen, click the “Browse” button, then select the video file on your computer that you want to upload. Choose whether you want the video made “Public,” (available to all), or “Private,” (viewable only by yourself and those you invite.) 5. Click “Upload.” Uploading your video make take some time depending on the file size and your bandwidth. You can keep track of the upload status with the status bar on the page. Your video will be pre-approved and then made available on your personal page.
What stance does GodTube take regarding copyright issues? We endeavor to maintain the integrity of GodTube in keeping with our own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you believe you are the copyright holder of a video that has been posted to GodTube.com by one of our users, please notify us immediately at copyright@godtube.com. We will take all the appropriate steps to remedy the situation provided by law according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998.
How do I change my User Name? While logged in, click on your user name to change it.
What if I don’t receive my verification email? First, check both your email inbox and your junk mail folder for our confirmation email. If you can’t find it, go to our Help section (the link is in the top right corner), scroll down to the bottom of the page and use the contact link to send us an email. Make sure you spell your email address correctly to receive our reply, and make sure you add support@godtube.com to your address book so our email won’t be sent to your junk mail folder.
How do I update My Info on my Page? To update your info, go to your page, then click on the Update Profile button on the left. Change the information in the appropriate field, then scroll down and click the “Update Profile” button.
How do I add friends? You can find and add friends in a number of different ways. You can:
In each instance, once you are on the user’s page, click the “Add to Friends” button on the left and follow the instructions.
How do I invite friends to GodTube? Log in, then go to your “Friends” page. On the left, you’ll see a button to “Invite More Friends.” Then fill in your friends’ email addresses in the appropriate field. Be sure to type the email addresses correctly! Each address should be separated by a comma. If there are errors, your friends will not receive emails. Then click “Submit.”
How do I add a photo/avatar to my profile? To add or change the image on your profile, you can either click “Update Profile” while on your page, or click on the “Profile Info” link in your personal navigation at the top of the page. Scroll down to the “Photo/Avatar” area, and browse for the photo or image you would like to use by clicking “Browse.” Once you’ve selected your image, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Update Profile.”
How do I read messages that have been sent to me? Once you log in, you have several ways to view messages. On the home page and on your personal page, you’ll see a My Inbox area telling you how many new messages have been sent to you, as well as how many Friend Requests you’ve received. To view your messages, just click on the number, even if it’s “0.” This will take you to your Inbox. Then click on a message subject to view the message. Alternatively, in your personal navigation at the top of the page, the last option on the right is “Messages.” Click on that link and you’ll go to your Inbox.
How do I add videos to My Favorites? First, log in. Then, when watching a video you like, click on the “Add to Favorites” button below the video. You can also add it as a favorite in the video window after the video has played.
How do I join a Group? You can join any group by clicking on the Groups tab at the top of the page, then selecting a Group that you like. Once you’re on that Group page, click “Join this Group” and you’ll be included. You can go back to the same page and click “Leave this Group” at any time.
Can anyone request the Prayer Blog and its tools? Right now, we are offering these tools ONLY to pastors and select ministries. In the near future, we may roll out certain features to all users. If you are a pastor or minister and would like to use this tools, please click HERE to request the Prayer Blog.
How do I chat with other users? You can chat with users in two ways, either on your page, or on another user’s page. Either way, just scroll down to the Chat Board below the video blog screen, type your message in the blank field and press “Send.” Your message should appear on the Chat Board above.
What can I do if someone is posting inappropriate messages on my chat board? Because GodTube promotes Christian fellowship and Biblical ideals, we require the highest standard of conduct from users. If another user is posting messages that you consider inappropriate, you can flag that user for investigation by a GodTube administrator. Just use the “Report Abuse” box below the Chat Board. Keep in mind, however, that if you are found to be making false abuse claims, you may be banned from GodTube.
What if I find that someone is posting inappropriate content in their video blog? Although GodTube makes every effort to insure that content posted by users is appropriate, if you see content posted in a video blog that contains nudity, cursing, appears to be posted by someone under-age, or is in any way not in compliance with the GodTube Terms of Use or Privacy Policy, please use the “Report Abuse” tool below the video blog archive. Keep in mind, however, that if you are found to be making false abuse claims, you may be banned from GodTube.
How do I post my video blog on another site? You can embed your video blog on another site by grabbing the HTML code in the “Embed this Player” area and adding it to a webpage, to your MySpace or webpage, or anywhere else you’d like it to be seen. The content will still be hosted by GodTube, but will be visible on the other site.
How do I create a video blog? To create a video blog using the Prayer Blog tool, you need to sign up as a user, and you need to have a webcam hooked up to your computer. Once you do, go to your user page and click the button on the left that says, “Launch Prayer Blog.” Each time you launch the Prayer Blog, you’ll need to “Agree” to let the tool use your webcam. After that, your webcam should activate, and you should see an image on the Prayer Blog screen. Simply click “<Start Broadcast>” to start recording your blog. Click “<Stop Broadcast>” to end that recording session. A GodTube administrator will check the content of the posting before it is made available on your page.
Why can’t I see an image in my Prayer Blog? If you’ve launched the Prayer Blog, agreed to let the tool use your camera, and still can’t see any image in your Prayer Blog screen, you may need to select the right input device. Right-click on the screen (for Macs, Control-click on the screen), and from the menu that appears, choose “Settings.” Then, from the four boxes that appear, click on the picture of the webcam and select the webcam that you want to use from the drop down. Then click on the picture of the microphone and select the microphone you want to use from the dropdown.
How many minutes can I record? Users can record up to 30 minutes total in all their video blogs and live broadcasts for free. You can do one 30-minute blog, or 30 one-minute blogs, five 4-minute blogs, or any other combination. If you run out of space, you can erase one of your saved blogs to create more space.
How can I get more video blogging or broadcasting time? If you want more time on the Prayer Blog, you can simply click on the “Purchase More Time” link underneath the Prayer Blog. Every 30 additional minutes cost $19.95. You will have to have a credit card to complete this transaction.
How do I find the Prayer Wall on GodTube.com? When you navigate to www.godtube.com, there is a "Prayer Wall" icon on the top right, below the tab structure. When you click on "Prayer Wall", you will surf to the interactive prayer wall where you can post your own prayers or pray for others.
Do I need to register with GodTube.com to post a request? Yes. All you need to do is click on the red "Sign Up" button in top right of the GodTube.com homepage and you will be directed to the registration page. Fill out the information requested, go to your e-mail inbox and approve the e-mail notification, and you will be ready to post a request to the Prayer Wall!
How do I post a text prayer request? Click on the orange "Post a Prayer" button found in the middle of the Prayer Wall and the entry form will automatically appear. Fill in the title and prayer request in the appropriate boxes. Click on the "Categories" box and scroll through until you find the right category for your prayer and click on it. If you choose to have your request e-mailed to others, please fill in their e-mail addresses in the next box-you can email as many friends as you'd like! You may also choose to attach a photo or video to your text request. Click "Submit" at the bottom of the page and you will be taken to the Prayer Wall where your prayer will be displayed.
How do I attach a picture to my request? After following the instructions to post a text prayer, you can choose to add a picture to your entry. Under "Add Media" click on the "Attach a Photo" button. A drop down box displaying size limitations will appear. Click on the "Browse" button found on the bottom right of this screen. Click on the image you wish to attach to your request and click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. A picture will be included with your prayer!
How do I light a candle on the Prayer Wall? Click on "Light a Candle" at the bottom of the page and you will see a candle automatically lit on that page. Lighting a candle is a ritual that has been passed down through the centuries. A single candle brings light into darkness and helps us to focus our intentions on the process of prayer. A candle can also be symbolic of a prayer request that is not ready to be written or spoken. It can represent a loved one, a thought, a goal, an intention or an emotion. Feel free to light a candle in times of praise or times of challenge to represent what you are thinking or feeling.
How can I encourage others or pray for others on the Prayer Wall? Pray for the requests you see and let others know you are lifting them up! Click on any prayer request you see on the Prayer Wall on you will be taken to page that is unique to that request. On the bottom right of the screen lick on "Post a Comment". Enter your comment into the box and click on "Submit Comment" to encourage the person who entered the request.
How can I get my friends involved? After entering your prayer, don't forget to email as many people as you can in the "Share Your Prayer" section. Remember, a "prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective," and your friends should know when you need emotional, physically, or spiritual help. Don't be afraid to share your prayers with the world!
How can I see who posted a prayer? If you click on a particular prayer, you will see a thumbnail image of the person who posted the prayer. If you click on their picture, you will automatically be taken to their personal page. This is an excellent way to encourage one another and meet new friends!
How do I find the Virtual Bible on GodTube.com? When you navigate to www.godtube.com, there is a "Virtual Bible" icon on the top right, below the tab structure. When you click on "Virtual Bible", you will be taken to an interactive Bible where you can read scripture, watch the accompanying video, and study the Bible.
Do I need to register with GodTube.com to post a request? Yes. How do I turn the pages of the Bible? At the bottom of each page, there are arrows, < and >, that allow you to turn the page. If you click on an arrow, you can move forward or back inside of the Bible.
What are the videos at the bottom of the Bible? The videos at the bottom of the page are associated with the verses in the Bible. If you click on a video, a box will appear on top of the Bible and you can watch an edifying or interesting video that helps explain that verse. The power of the Virtual Bible is that anyone can tag a video with a specific Bible verse and scripture can come alive! When you navigate to a different book in the Bible, the videos will change too!
How do I search the Bible? There are two ways to search the Bible. First, you can choose a specific book, chapter, and verse with the drop down menus at the top of the page. This will quickly take you to your desired verse. Secondly, if you don't know exactly what you are looking for, you can type a word or phrase in the "Search" box and a display box will appear with a number of different choices. You can then choose the appropriate verse and the Bible will display that verse and the accompanying videos.
Can I read the Bible in a different translation? Absolutely! In the top left-hand corner of the page, there is a "Translation" box. If you click the arrow on the right side, a drop-down menu will appear and you can choose the translation you wish to read. To make your Bible reading experience more powerful, we will continue to add more translations as we grow.
Can I add my videos to the Virtual Bible! Of course! When you upload a video to GodTube.com, you can choose a particular book, chapter, and verse to associate with that video. When you do so, our Virtual Bible automatically inserts your video into the Bible. It's that easy!
