Loss of my Son & the many Questions

Our family lost our youngest son & brother Michael (age 23) on Dec 17, 2007 to depression/suicide while away at college for his Senior year. Since that day, Mike's life and the lives of his family/friends have been turned upside down. I recall hugging and bidding him farewell in the driveway as he prepared to return to college for just a few more weeks. He had been home for Thanksgiving and would soon return for Christmas break. My wife Audrey visited Mike on campus just days prior to his death; then leaving so he could focus on final exams. We had every reason to expect that he would be home for Christmas in just a few days after her visit...but he did not show. Having grieved over the loss of our son for the past 8 months, I would like to share some alternate perspectives of mental illness/suicide in general.
